Club Music Vancou is a community of Korean musicians created in 2019.
Amateur and professional musicians of various genres gather to network
and perform in the community. Currently, six bands are active, and the genres
include pop, blues&soul, jazz, funk, rock, fusion gugak(traditional Korean music),
and experimental music.
Overcoming the difficulties of Covid situation, we resumed activities and we
run Open Mike Radio every month, as well as Holiday Jazz Jam Days, where
any musician can participate. Recently our jazz unit was invited to A Night of
a Thousand Stars Gala in Winter 2021 and we also performed at Vancouver's
Parade of Lost Souls during Halloween in 2021.
Although our experience as a community may be short, as members of the
multi-ultural society, we try our best to combine North American music with
diverse Korean music that is much more than just K-pop.
We are now actively looking for gigs and hoping for bands of each genre to
be invited to various performances again.
